Visit the Oregon Trail Museum in Montpelier, Idaho for an interpretive adventure. Enjoy an 1850’s simulated wagon train experience; learn about the history of the area and dive into the life of the explorers who lived here. Next, arrive in the cowboy town of Jackson, Wyoming, the “Crown Jewel” of the Northern Rockies. Day 3: Jackson-Grand Teton Nat'l. Park-Jenny Lake-Inspiration Point-JacksonPrepare for a day of adventure and countless photo ops! Set off for the awe-inspiring Teton mountain range. Grand Teton National Park showcases the youngest peaks in the Rockies and contains some of North America's oldest rock formations. Approximately twelve Teton peaks rise above 12,000 feet and support a dozen mountain glaciers. As impressive as they are, none can compare to the Grand Teton, stretching 13,770 feet into the sky – more than a mile – above the valley of Jackson Hole. Take in the beauty of this majestic Alpine landscape. After a quick ferry ride across Jenny Lake, enjoy a hike to Inspiration Point for a spectacular lookout and amazing waterfall. This afternoon, take to the water and hold on tight when you embark on a white water rafting trip down the Snake River! Day 4: Jackson - Yellowstone National Park - JacksonToday is the day you’ve been waiting for - visit the incomparable Yellowstone National Park, the first and oldest national park in the world! Yellowstone sprawls across 3,470 square miles and touches three western states. Famous for its geysers and hot springs, you’ll spot incredible wildlife like free-ranging herds of buffalo that call this wonderland home. When you arrive, a ranger guide brings the park's natural splendor to life. How far does the famous Old Faithful geyser erupt into the air? How many buffalo can you spot? Yellowstone is an experience for the whole family.
Day 5: Jackson HoleEnjoy a free day to explore the beauty of Jackson Hole. You may choose to journey out on horseback this morning or enjoy one of the amenities of your resort – the aerial tram, mini-golf or hiking trails – an activity pass has been included for you! This evening, gather on Main Street for an old fashioned “shoot-out” before dinner at a local restaurant. Then, the Wild West comes to life as you attend the exciting rodeo!
Day 6: Jackson - Blackfoot, Idaho - PocatelloThis morning get up-close with some of the west’s birds of prey at the Teton Raptor Center. Learn about the conservation efforts to protect these great birds! Travel through beautiful scenery en route to Idaho, “the Potato Capital of the World." Stop in the small town of Blackfoot to visit the Idaho Potato Museum to learn about the history, agriculture and importance of the spectacular spud. This afternoon, arrive in Pocatello. Discover what it was like to travel the Oregon Trail, a significant route used by pioneers heading west in the 19th century, during a visit to Fort Hall. Afterwards, visit the Pocatello Zoo and discover the diversity of North American wildlife that call Wyoming and Idaho home. Tonight, learn a couple of country-western dances at a delightful local restaurant as you toast farewell to a memorable family vacation.
Day 7: Pocatello - Tour EndsYour tour ends today, leaving you with many wonderful memories of the beautiful and diverse northern national parks.
